Setting

This book takes place in three different places. Those three places are the Greenberg's house, Harman Middle School, and the Meyers' house.

The Greenberg's House
The first setting in this novel is the Greenberg's house. Besides the obvious reason for David being there, because he lives there, this is also the place where he shoots all of his internet-famous TalkTime videos. David frequently has friends over at his house, too, since his dad works at home writing for the paper. The importance of this setting is that lots of things are shared here. Those include emotions from ecstatic to melancholy, discoveries you won't believe, and finding solutions to the most erroneous of problems.

Harman Middle School

The second setting in this novel is Harman Middle School. This is a crucial setting in this book for several reasons. First, this is where David meets Sophie, who more or less is the one responsible for making his videos go viral. Also, Harman Middle School is where the not-so-good things happen. For example, David starts to lose hope in ever gaining his old friend back, David gets a swirlie on a day that was mistaken to be his birthday, and David gets in a colassal fight at lunch. Even though it sounds bad now, David learns from his mistakes, and in the end it makes him stronger.

The Meyers' House

The the third and final setting in this book is the Meyers' house. This also is a vital setting that is present in the novel. This is where David and Sophie bond much more and become greater friends. David realizes just how overprotective Sophie's mom can be, and feels bad for her.  David finally lets out to her that he doesn't really have a mom anymore, and that he would take Sophie's mom any day. The two of them talk about their situations with their moms that they have never told anyone else before, and they learn a lot about each other and become much greater friends.
