Donna Gephart, the author of this book, is a very gifted and telented author.  Growing up, Gephart recalls the library to be her second home, since she was present there so often. She always loved to write, and officially decided when she was 10 that she wanted to become an author. Her first novel written, "As If Being 12-3/4 Isn't Bad Enough, My Mother Is Running For President!," won the Sid Fleischman Humor Award. The most recent book Donna has written is actually this book, 'How to Survive Middle School," published in 2010 by an imprint of Random House Children's Books.
Donna Gephart has not written many books yet. Her most popular books are the ones that I have mantioned already, which are, "As if Being 12-3/4 Isn't Bad Enough, My Mother Is Running For President!," and "How to Survive Middle School." Gephart enjoys writing books for middle grade students, as you can probably tell by these book titles. Actually, if you have read or would like to read Donna's books, she happens to be getting  a new one published in spring, 2012. It is called, "Olivia Bean, Trivia Queen." This book is also for middle grade students, and is going to be about a girl determined to do whatever it takes to be on the popular TV quiz show, Jeopardy!
